North Atlanta Wedding Photographer- The Wethington Wedding
Julia & Devin tied the knot a few weeks ago at Brick & Ivey in Marietta Georgia. It was one of the first hot days of the summer, though the venue allowed all guests and wedding party to stay cool indoors for a lovely ceremony & reception.
When Julia first reached out to me last year to book her wedding, we met in a cute little coffee shop to discuss her vision for her big day. Julia was pregnant at the time with their son and she was so excited to start their future and own family. This wedding felt close to my heart since my first son was also at my wedding and it was so special to have my own little family unit there.
I was lucky enough to do Julia & Devins newborn photos in my studio in Dahlonega, as well as their engagement photos at Prospect Farms in Lawrenceville, GA.
It has been so wonderful watching their family grow and it was even better seeing witnessing them tie the knot in a big way!
The bride, Julia got ready with her best girlfriends and sister to get the day started and then did first looks with her mother and stepmother in the bridal suite. Her bridesmaids patiently waiting outside the suite to see her for the first time with her dress on and their reactions did not disappoint.
The groomsmen all got ready together and headed over to the venue where they donned their matching socks which were a gift from the bride.
Devin & Julia then shared private letters with one another back to back before turning around for their private first look. I love how intimate and special first looks are.
Last but not least, Julia got to show off her dress with another private first look with her father. It was so sweet!
Since the bride & groom did first looks before the ceremony, we were able to do some family photos and bridal party group shots before they said, “I Do.”
Finally, it was time to walk down the aisle and say yes to the rest of their lives! Julia & Devin did a mixing of sand to symbolize the joining of the pair and it was a beautiful ceremony!
After the ceremony, the bride and groom shared their first dance. Julia then danced with her father and the DJ made the announcement to bring Julia’s sister up to dance with her father as well since she wasn’t able to dance with him at her wedding. During this, Julia brought her stepfather up to dance. This was such a sweet moment. If that wasn’t a sweet enough surprise, the DJ then asked Julia’s mom up to dance with Devin, whose family was not able to attend. It really showed the family support from this group and I know these are moments that they will treasure forever.
The lighting was so gorgeous for bride & groom portraits and we even went back out later for some golden hour shots with their little guy.
Next were toasts and then party time!!
To finish off this amazing wedding, the bride and groom shared a private dance before exiting together under sparklers held by their loved ones. Congratulations Julia & Devin!
